European deadlocked debate around hydraulic fracturing

United States, "Christian Science Monitor" reported on July 24, two years ago due to impressive natural gas reserves and intends to promote the European shale gas revolution in Poland near-term prospects Mengyin, however, with the European debate surrounding  Hydraulic fracturing  technology into deadlock, while Poland's shale gas estimated to decline, including Exxon Mobil, including the three major international energy giant has recently announced its withdrawal.

It is reported that two years ago, the European continent is widely regarded as shale gas to help them deal with the debt crisis, austerity and reduce unemployment out a valuable opportunity to replicate the success of the United States. However, to take advantage of these reserves, the need for the government and the public support of hydraulic fracturing technology, this problem has triggered a huge divergence in Europe.

Reported that Poland and the United Kingdom to support this, but Germany and France but opposed. Recently, the German beer producers are organizing a united front against hydraulic fracturing, and said that the fracturing process can contaminate groundwater; while France is since 2011 a total ban on hydraulic fracturing. French President Hollande also stressed: "As long as I'm still the president, the French would be no  shale gas  exploration."

Despite the small number of people are opposed to hydraulic fracturing, Poland shale gas exploration is still held generally supportive attitude. Polish long-term dependence on Russian energy supplies, for which the economic costs to pay expensive, but through the Polish shale gas will help improve their energy independence.

However, with the emergence of obstacles, Poland enthusiasm began to weaken from 2011. U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) initially said Poland has 5.3 trillion cubic meters of natural gas, according to a new assessment in June this year, the Polish natural gas reserves are estimated to reduce by 20%, but the attitude of the Government of Poland said that will not change.

Reported that, unlike the United States, in Europe, mineral exploration is not an individual right, but an act of state, so the associated procedures will be much more complex. Meanwhile, as the world's "green leader" in Europe tend to exploit new energy technologies to get rid of its own energy dilemma, for a potential environmental threat of pollution exploration behaviors tend to take a more cautious approach.
